About Sharon C Bommer
With extensive leadership experience in the automotive industry, Sharon C. Bommer has earned an M.B.A. in International Business from the University of Cincinnati, and an M.S. in Industrial Engineering at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. Her thesis research was on the topic “Assessing the Effects of Multi-Modal Communications on Mental Workload during Supervision of Multiple Unmanned Aerial Vehicles.” Sharon C. Bommer is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Engineering with a concentration on industrial and human systems.
Sharon Claxton Bommer’s past experience includes a number of positions with the General Motors’ Saturn Corporation in Tennessee, including as project engineer with the steel panel die-stamping program. In this capacity, she coordinated the design and international sourcing of dies for Saturn SUVs. Ms. Bommer subsequently guided a team of employees as Saturn’s operations advisor for the steel-stamping module on the production line. As a result of her work, General Motors awarded her the prestigious honor, “Women of Color Technology Rising Star Award”. In addition, she has experience with Toyota Motor Corporation North America as an operations leader and project manager of vehicle production engineering, and as a plant manager with the tier 1 and tier 2 supplier Benteler Automotive.
